The Arctic Technology Centre, Artek in everyday speech, was set up in the late summer of 2000 to train and further train Greenlandic and Danish students, as well as businesspeople, in arctic technology.
Artek also runs courses and seminars on Arctic conditions and contributes to developing know-how around this area of technology. The Centre is run as a cooperation between Sanaartornermik Ilinniarfik Building and Construction College in Sisimiut and the Technical University of Denmark in Lyngby.
Artek is a multi-discipline project organization focussing on research, training and innovation within Arctic areas.
