The Language Centre/Oqaatsinik Pikkorissarfik

Situated on a mountain top, with a fantastic view over the town of Sisimiut, is the Language Centre Oqaatsinik Pikkorissarfik.

Sisimiut’s Language Centre has the task of improving the general population’s language skills, among other things, with respect to enhancing existing skills and further educating people so they can enter into the labour market in areas where trade and industry is growing.

The Centre follows the objectives that trade and industry and politicians are establishing for social development, and serves both the public and private sectors.

Oqaatsinik Pikkorissarfik in Sisimiut plans and provides language courses at the Centre itself and also provides and organizes residential courses and language teaching in other places in Greenland and abroad.

The staff also perform the function of a knowledge centre, which can advise individuals, companies and public bodies on the possibility of training through language instruction.
