Communications

Sarfannguit, as already mentioned, is situated on an island and is without communications with the mainland in the summer half of the year, but the village ship departs once a week from Sisimiut to Sarfannguit.

The ships Marie Martek and Angaju Ittuk sail the route between Sisimiut and Sarfannguit. For up-to-date information on the sailing times, visit the homepage of the Royal Arctic Bygdeservice. In the right-hand column on their homepage you’ll find the sailing times of the two ships.

You can also view the prices of the service here

It’s also possible to charter a small passenger boat in Sisimiut, which can take you to Sarfannguit. The trip takes about 90 minutes depending on the sailing conditions, and the trip alone is a fine experience through a picturesque archipelago with snow-covered mountains to the west and the Davis Strait to the east.

Contact one of the ship operators below in Sisimiut to find out more about options and prices.
